The last element presently found in the Periodic Table, oganesson was discovered at the beginning of the current century by a joint group of American scientists from California and Russian scientists from Moscow. This chemical element has got the name after Yuri Oganessian, a prominent Russian nuclear physicist. The element was obtained in the labs and still not much is known about it. It is a highly radioactive metal, extremely dangerous for all living things on our planet. So far, it has been used only for chemical research.
