Thallium is a soft light grey color metal which reacts quite easily with air. In this reaction thallium becomes of a slightly green color, and its name is derived from a Greek word meaning green tint. This element is very toxic and can cause serious damage to a loving organism. It is carcinogenic. Thallium is extracted from a number of natural ores. Due to high toxicity of this element, its uses are limited to preparing various kinds of poisons, as well as producing glass, some photoelectric elements, etc.
